AFRICA CHANGES YOU FOREVER, LIKE NOWHERE ELSE ON EARTH ... AND TANZANIA IS ITS HEART.

There are endless reasons to make a trip to Tanzania. Here we will show you a few of them:

 1. Tanzania & its people

If you are planning on vistiting Tanzania, you might like to learn a few interesting facts about the country. The United Republic of Tanzania consists of Tanganyika, on the African mainland, and the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba. It is the largest country in East Africa with a population of around 50-60 million people.

Once a German colony, it was designated a British mandate in 1919. The country became independent in 1961 under the leadership of its first President, Julius Nyerere, who managed to unite the over 120 separate tribes into a cohesive society, turning Tanzania into the stable factor in Africa it still is today. This stability, combined with the friendly population and the country’s wealth of natural and cultural diversity, ensures that Tanzania is the ultimate holiday destination, an exotic location that will make your dreams come true.

It is said that if you want to meet the friendliest people in the world you should visit Tanzania. The people are welcoming, peaceful, humble, and polite speakers. The reason behind this is, despite having more than 120 tribes, Tanzania is still unified by the Kiswahili language and their family spirit. There is no discrimination nor segregation of any kind as the founding fathers built the country under the motto of Ujamaa na Kujitegemea which means Family-hood and Self-reliance. Tanzanians have different kinds of cultures and these are spread all over the country. Every tribe has its own language, food, cultural dances (ngoma za asili), local brews, and housing styles.

2. Tanzania's nature and wildlife

From its stunning Indian Ocean beaches to the shores of Lake Victoria, from the arable plains of its central plateau to the heights of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is the jewel of East Africa. Among Tanzania’s neighbors are Kenya to the north and Mozambique to the south, with multiple landlocked nations like Uganda, Malawia and Zambia around.

Tanzania’s natural beauty and sheer density of plant and wildlife species make it a top destination for ecotourists. Almost a third of the country is protected, providing habitat for scores of species across 16 national parks and community wildlife management areas.

Because of the historically low density of human settlement, mainland Tanzania is home to an exceptionally rich array of wildlife. Large herds of hoofed animals—wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, gazelles, elands, dik-diks, and kudu—are found in most of the country’s numerous game parks. Predators including hyenas, wild dogs, and the big cats—lions, leopards and cheetahs are also often seen guests within the endless nature of Tanzania. Crocodiles and hippopotamuses are common on riverbanks and lakeshores. The government has taken special measures to protect rhinoceroses and elephants, which have fallen victim to poachers.

Not to forget of course - Zanzibar Island offers many features in one place, combining the charm of green nature, the sea and the golden beaches that provide recreation, relaxation and historical and cultural heritage. Definitely also not to miss out on your Tanzania must-do list and our next reason why you should visit Tanzania.

3. Tanzania is just a leap away from probably the most beautiful beaches around the globe

Nothing is typical in Zanzibar. Home of some of the best beaches, kitesurf spots and diving in the world, it is actually a string of islands sitting off the coast of Tanzania. The islands are awash with culture, history, and magnificent coasts under swaying palms.

This is a unique world, off on its own, apart from the rest of Africa. Immerse yourself in the culture, history, architecture, and unforgettable waters of Zanzibar.

4. Tanzania's culinary

The best way to experience a country is through its kitchen and culinary. Tanzania is one of the best places to do so in whole Africa. Food tourism is making major inroads in Tanzania, where thousands of eager -- and ravenous - travellers are headed for a taste of authentic Swahili dishes and warm local hospitality. Tanzanian food is rich in diversity. The ingredients utilized and the preparation methods differ widely from area to area so its definetely a must to just enjoy the food of Tanzania.

Some dishes not to miss out: Mchuzi wa samaki - Ndizi na nyama - Mchemsho - Mandazi - Mchicha

5. Make your safari dream come true

If there is one destination in Africa that you need to see in this lifetime, it would be Tanzania — the land of safaris!

Tanzania is undoubtedly considered a true nature and safari paradise. Lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, leopards and rhinos roam the legendary Serengeti, the adventurous  Ngorongoro Crater, the beautiful Tarangire National Park or the stunning area of Lake Manyara National Park.

Without a doubt, Tanzania’s greatest wildlife attraction is the annual Wildebeest Migration, which sees almost two million wildebeest, gazelles and zebra follow seasonal rains across the Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem each year. Tanzania hosts the lion’s share of the Migration – two main events take place in the Serengeti:

  • The mass calving season when almost a quarter of a million babies are born in the southern Serengeti.
  • The dramatic Grumeti River crossings
